UM Students Can Pick Up Obama & Romney Tix Starting Monday

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – University of Miami students who managed to win tickets to see President Barack Obama or his Republican challenger Mitt Romney can start picking up their tickets starting Monday.

Both candidates are scheduled to take part in taped interviews with Univision this week as they try to capture more young and Hispanic voters.

Gov. Romney will be interviewed on Wednesday, President Obama the following day.

These two special programs, scheduled to take place in the BankUnited Center Fieldhouse, will be conversations with the candidates. While all questions will be posed in Spanish, they will be answered in English by the candidates and translated to Spanish where necessary.

UM Young & College Democrats and UM College Republicans both had initial access to the tickets for their respective candidates events. The remaining student tickets were distributed via a lottery system and were available to all currently enrolled students.

If you were one o f the lucky winners, you can pick up your tickets at the Whitten University Center from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday and up to noon on Wednesday. By 1 p.m. on Wednesday, any alternates will be notified via email to pickup remaining tickets.

On Wednesday at 6 p.m., the alternate ticket pickup will close. Tickets are non-transferable, and must be used by the student who won the lottery. There are no tickets available for faculty or staff.
