Tickets Available For Clinton's Miami Rally

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Former President Bill Clinton will be in Miami on Tuesday to rally support for President Barack Obama.

During his speech, Clinton is expected to discuss what's at stake for Florida and re-iterate themes from his speech at the Democratic National Convention as to why it's important to keep President Obama's plans for the future of this country moving forward.

"We believe that 'we are all in this together' is a far better philosophy than 'you are on your own'," told the DNC.

"President Obama has already cut taxes for a typical family by $3,600 since taking office – helping families send their kids to college, buy their first home, and pay for health and child care," according to a release from In a release from Obama for America-Florida. "The President also placed seniors' health at the forefront of his administration, securing $4,200 in savings for all beneficiaries and closing the gap, known as the "doughnut hole," by $600."

Tuesday's event at Florida International University's Arena is free and open to the public, but tickets are required for entrance.

At FIU on Monday, hundreds of students stood in line for hours hoping to receive a ticket.

"I think he's really going to fire up the students and show the same thing that we saw at the DNC but more on our end, what we are looking for with student loans and how we are going to get jobs when we graduate," said student Ximena Prugue.

"He's going to rile up the youth here that's eligible to vote, the 18 to 25 year olds that are here on campus. It's a huge part of the voting population that Barack Obama seized in 2008," said Steven Nunez.

Clinton will not just be courting the student vote.  Tickets were also handed out at two other locations Monday morning to supporters of all ages.

"We also had a long line at the Hialeah office and at the Pinecrest office. Yesterday there was a long line.  So obviously the convention was very successful in building the enthusiasm," said Annette Taddeo with Obama For America-Florida.

There are a limited number of tickets left and they are being handed out, one per person on a first-come, first-served basis.
