W MIAMI-DADE (CBSMiami) – A section of Krome Avenue in west Miami-Dade was closed to traffic Sunday afternoon for several hours after a deadly roll over accident.

“The subject was driving his Ford truck northbound on Krome Avenue, which is one of the most dangerous roads in South Florida,” said Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Joe Sanchez. “He lost control of the vehicle, he overturned and fell into a ditch with some water.”

The accident happened near mile marker 30.

Two other people who were also in the truck survived. A good Samaritan pulled over and tried to help the driver but it was too late.

The survivors were taken to Palmetto General Hospital in fair condition.

The FHP has not released the name of the driver.
