Shutters Need To Go Up Across S. Florida

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – It's time for shutters to go up across South Florida.

The CBS4 Storm Team, along with Miami-Dade County officials made the recommendation Saturday morning for shutters to go up in both Miami-Dade and Broward County.

Broward County Emergency Manager Chuck Lanza said earlier Saturday morning that he has already put his shutters up.

Friday, Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez said citizens should stay tuned to the media for updates and be prepared to implement their family's hurricane plan quickly.

Emergency Services Management Director Curtis Sommerhoff said the county does not want to ring too loud an alarm, but added that there can be large variations in the forecast track for Isaac.
