SANFORD (CBS4) – The attorney for the central Florida man who shot and killed Trayvon Martin is asking a judge to modify existing bond restrictions so his client can travel out of the area.

Mark O’Mara filed a motion late Wednesday asking that George Zimmerman be allowed to leave Seminole County. In granting Zimmerman $1 million bond release last month, Judge Kenneth Lester mandated that he remain in the county of the February shooting.

O’Mara argues that the mandate is interfering with Zimmerman’s ability to contribute to his defense. Due to safety concerns, Zimmerman is living in hiding.

Lester revoked Zimmerman’s original $150,000 bond in June, which did not have the same living restrictions, after he ruled that Zimmerman and his wife had misled the court about their financial status.
