MIAMI (CBSMiami) – When he’s been on the field, Marlins speedster Emilio Bonifacio has been quite an addition. But, for the second time this year, Bonifacio is headed to the disabled list.
According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Bonifacio was placed on the 15-day disabled list after an MRI revealed a sprained right knee. Bonifacio apparently suffered the injury in Tuesday’s 6-5 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Bonifacio missed most of the summer due to a sprained thumb, but still has stolen 30 bases in the 64 games he’s played this season.
In his place, the Marlnis recalled relief pitcher Dan Jennings.
