Lauderdale Company Suspected In Dumpster Thefts
FT. LAUDERDALE (CBS4) – Two people from a Broward business have been questioned as Ft. Lauderdale police investigate stolen dumpsters.
Tuesday morning, investigators with the Ft. Lauderdale police went to Toilet Taxi at 2760 NW 55th Court, near Ft. Lauderdale Executive Airport. Two people from inside the business were escorted to police cars.
A source told CBS4's Joan Murray that the business is accused of stealing dumpsters from all over Broward County, repainting them and then selling them to businesses in Palm Beach County.
Investigators say they have pocketed about $75,000.
CBS4 asked an employee at Toilet Taxi if they could comment on the investigation and was told they were unaware of any grand theft probe into their business.
CBS4 also requested an interview with the business owner and so far there has been no response.
