Police: Lauderhill Man Broke Into Home, Fondled Sleeping Girl

LAUDERHILL (CBS4) - A Lauderhill woman is sharing her frightening story in hopes of catching the man who attacked her daughter inside her home.

Lauderhill Police say that in the early morning hours on July 31, a man broke into the woman's home and fondled her 12-year-old daughter while the girl slept.

Thursday night Lauderhill Police detectives went door to door in the neighborhood trying to find the attacker, who has been identified as Tyrone Tucker, 30.

The girls' mother is haunted by the chilling words of her 12 year old the morning of the attack.

"She's like 'Ma, ma' and she's crying," the mother said. "She's shaking. 'There's a man in the house. There's a man in the house.'"

The mother said the attacker broke in through a bathroom window after removing a screen and using a chair to gain access.

The woman said her daughter no longer feels safe in her home.

"She keeps picturing this man standing over her, watching her," the mother told CBS 4's Carey Codd.

Detectives went door to door in the Broward Estates community where Turner has been seen before. Detective Atina Beans said this was a random attack on a defenseless child.

"She doesn't know this individual," Beans said. "The mother doesn't know this individual. It was a complete stranger."

Neighbors are outraged. Neil Campbell estimates there's been at least four break-ins in the past few months.

"It's sick," Campbell said. "And we're sick of it in this neighborhood. There's been too many break-ins around here."

The girls' mother says she is doing all she can to protect her daughter but it's difficult.

"For somebody to see their child crying and not able to eat and be terrified, that's taking a toll on me," the mother said.
