Luther Campbell Cleared To Coach Football In Florida
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – He was once as nasty as he wanted to be, but former 2 Live Crew frontman Luther Campbell is now going to have a new official title, coach.
Friday, Florida's Education Practices Commission accepted a ruling from an administrative judge and certified Campbell to coach high school football in the state, according to SI.com. The ruling ended a lengthy fight over whether he would be allowed to coach in the state.
Campbell serves as the defensive coordinator at Northwestern High School in Miami. The administrative judge's order did set several guidelines that Campbell must follow now that he's been approved to be a coach, according to SI.com, including:
- He must take ethics classes, which Campbell has already completed.
- He must notify the Department of Education's investigative office within 30 days if he becomes involved in the "adult entertainment industry."
- He and his immediate supervisor will sign statements at the beginning of each school year certifying that he has read the Principles of Professional Conduct.
- Finally, Campbell must also prove that he has made all required child support payments.
