Kristen Stewart Apologizes For Cheating On Robert Pattinson

LOS ANGELES (CBSMiami/AP) – Twi-hard fans are reeling over actress Kristen Stewart's public apology to "Twilight" co-star/boyfriend Robert Pattinson, which confirmed reports that she cheated on him with her "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders.

In a statement released to People on Wednesday, the actress said, "I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."

Stewart has been in a relationship for several years with Pattinson.

Sanders, 41, who is married and has two young children with British model-actress Liberty Ross, also issued an apology via the magazine.

"I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family," he told People. "My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together."

The apologies came after Us Weekly published photos of Stewart, 22, with Sanders. The magazine said the two were caught by photographers in a "steamy rendezvous" on July 17 in Los Angeles. Other media outlets also reported news of the infidelity.

The final "Twilight" installment, "Breaking Dawn - Part 2," arrives in theaters on Nov. 16.
