ICE Agent Shoots Himself

MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) – An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer shot himself early Saturday afternoon.

It all began when Miami Beach police pulled over an SUV for a non-immigration-related traffic stop near the intersection of 56th Street and Collins. An ICE officer stepped out with his gun drawn. After talking to the driver for a few minutes, the officer returned to his gray Audi.

That's when a gun went off: the ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations officer had accidentally shot himself in the leg.

An ambulance was on the scene within two minutes. The officer, whose identity is not known, was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
