Mario Chalmers Greets Fans At S. Fla. Department Store

AVENTURA (CBS4) - Dozens of Heat fans lined up for hours Tuesday evening for a meet and greet with Heat point guard Mario Chalmers.

Fresh off the championship win, Chalmers signed team merchandise for excited sports fans.

Chalmers signed autographs for the first 250 people who bought $35 worth of Heat Championship merchandise.

Gatha Johnson said she rushed here from Florida City to see her favorite player.

"I was dancing.. we've gotta get out of here, Chalmers is coming... I love him he's a superstar," she said. She arrived at Macy's about 11 a.m. with her family. Her husband Ken Johnson admitted he was simply along for the ride.

"My wife drug me out here. She's the Chalmers fan" he joked, adding he was happy to sit in line while the rest of the family shopped.

Mia Leyva, 10, could hardly contain her excitement.  She waited in line wearing her championship t-shirt and hat.

"I love him because he's like my favorite player and in the game he made a lot of points," she said.
