Broward Robbery Suspect Leaves Behind Cell Phone

FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – An armed robber left behind more than just fingerprints or DNA at the scene of the crime – he actually left his cell phone.

Now the Broward Sheriff's Office has released several photos of the robbery suspect which were stored in the phone in hopes that someone recognizes him and gives them or Crime Stoppers a call.

On May 30th, a man walking in the 2500 block of NW 8th Street said a man ran up behind him, put him in a choke hold and then placed what he thought was a box cutter to his next.

After the armed mugger demanded money, he ran off. The man chased after him, caught him and as the two struggled, the robber lost his phone. The robber, who was cut during the struggle, managed to get away.

Anyone with information should contact BSO Robbery Detective Armando Enrique at (954) 321-4270 or Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS (8477).
