Burger King Introduces Bacon Sundae & Other New Foods

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Most things in life go better with bacon, but how about a bacon sundae? If you've ever dreamed of just such an item, Burger King will make it happen.

Miami-based Burger King said it will offer a bacon sundae – vanilla soft serve with fudge, caramel, bacon crumbles, and a piece of bacon – on its summer menu. The new dessert will have 510 calories, 18 grams of fat, and 61 grams of sugar.

Burger King is also planning to add the following items to its summer menu: Memphis pulled pork BBQ sandwich, Carolina BBQ Whopper or Chicken Sandwich, Texas BBQ Whopper or Chicken Sandwich, Sweet Potato Fries, and Frozen Lemonade.

BK had previously expanded its menu to including fruit smoothies, snack wraps, and new salads.

All of the new menu items are an attempt by Burger King to recapture customers and reverse the companies declining market share. Even things like the Whopper have been tweaked to improve food quality.

Burger King also has a new tag line of "Taste is King," which will replace "Have it Your Way."
