Former CBS4 Web Producer Kim Chapin Dead At 27

MIAMI (CBSMIami) - Former CBS4 web producer Kimberley Chapin died over the weekend, according to her family, the result of an apparent epileptic seizure. She was 27 years old.

Her mother shared news of her passing on her Facebook page.

"For those of Kim's friends that don't know, my beloved, beautiful, talented light of my life, Kimberley Diane Bozek Chapin passed away yesterday morning after an epileptic seizure," she said."Please keep us all in your prayers."

Kim was a graduate of Western Michigan University who had worked in television news in Michigan before relocating to Miami. At CBS4, she was hired as an associate producer and writer, and was later promoted to producer. The WFOR website, then known as cbs4.com, recruited her and she made the transition to digital media as weekend web producer.

Eventually, Kim took a greater role in working with social media for the website and for CBS4 News.

In mid-2010, Kim decided she wanted to move back into television news producing and left the CBS4.com team to join WSVN News, where she continued to work until her death.

"Kim struggled with her epilepsy but she never let it stop her," said Dave Game, Executive producer of digital media for CBS4. "Everyone on the webteam and those who worked with her throughout CBS4 were devastated by the news."

Kim is survived by her husband, Levi, and her mother, Dee Bozel. Memorial arrangements have not been finalized.
