Heat Fans Rally Despite Loss

MIAMI (CBS4) – While it wasn't quite the American Airlines Arena, Duffy's Sports Grill served as a pretty decent substitute Sunday night.

"It's a fantastic atmosphere, it's just awesome here," Nancy Sultan said at the Heat's official Road Rally watch party. "My daughter drags me."

"It's electric," said Lisa Nadell who was attending her first Heat Road Rally. "I love seeing all the fans, all the people out here."

By car or by boat, fans flooded the bar in North Miami Beach. Even before the game, some started to talk trash.

"Last game, we let them win, you know, just gave them a little chance," Chandler Sultan said. "But no, they got this, they got this hands down."

Heat dancers pumped up the crowd using the dining room as their makeshift dance floor. The street team energized fans while waving white napkins with pride. Just after tip-off, expectations were high.

"A blow out," Trevor Johnson said. "I want Dwyane Wade to score 35. LeBron to score 30."

The Heat were down early, but the enthusiasm never faltered.

"We're going to get it together," Chiquita Wilson said. "We gotta slow down and focus."

Even the youngest fans kept their hopes up. Nicholas Forero just wanted his favorite player, LeBron James, to do well.

"Because he's good and he does a lot of slam dunks," Forero said.

After two games on the road, faithful fans are excited for the team to return to the home court Tuesday.

"The Heat are going to dominate this series, hands down," one fan said.

Others were just as confident.

"We're gonna shut it down. That's all I have to say."

But in the end, the Heat fell to the Celtics in overtime. Final score was 93 to 91.
