MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The dolphin population at the Miami Seaquarium has grown by one with the birth of a new baby dolphin.

His parents are Rioux and J.J. Rioux is 8-years-old and J.J. is 35. Both were born at the Seaquarium which makes the baby a third generation Seaquarium dolphin.

Rioux gave birth on Mother’s Day, May 13th, to a healthy male dolphin in the Top Deck Pool.

The new baby is the first for mom Rioux.

On average, a dolphin calf will weigh anywhere between 35-45 lbs. and is 3 1/2 to 4 feet long.
