Police: Davie Man Tries To Kill Father Of Teen Girlfriend

DAVIE (CBSMiami) – A 20-year old Davie man is facing an attempted murder charge after he allegedly tried to kill the father of his 16-year-old girlfriend.

Everything started when the girl ended her relationship with Felix Pena, 20. The girl said Felix was becoming verbally abusive towards her and that he had slapped her in the face and that at one point he allegedly threatened to choke her.

Then on Saturday, Davie Police investigators said Pena went to a Publix and bought two knives and some duct tape. Davie Police said Felix drove to the girl's community pool and then allegedly researched how to break into a house on his cell phone.

Davie Police said Felix waited at the victim's house for nine hours before he used a large cinder block to smash the sliding glass door. After he got in, Davie Police said Pena pulled out his knife and went to the father's bedroom.

The father, who suffers, from polio sat up and tried to defend himself, Davie Police said. According to the arrest report, Pena stabbed the father in the shoulder. The girl heard her father's scream and went into the room where Pena allegedly grabbed her by the shirt and then pushed her onto the bed.

Davie Police said Felix threatened to kill both of the victims and said, "If I can't have [the victim], no one can." Police said the girl eventually convinced Felix she would get back together with him and he eventually left.

Davie Police arrested Felix and he allegedly confessed to the crimes.
