Exclusive: Elderly Doctor Robbed & Carjacked In Front Of Office
MIAMI (CBS4) - Police are looking for two people who attacked an 88-year-old doctor in front of her office before stealing her car.
Dr. Elda Ferrer Guerra has cuts and bruises on her arms and pain in her head back and chest. She's worked as an OB-GYN for more than fifty years.
On Monday afternoon she was just arriving at her office on West Flager when she says two men approached her asked for money and then attacked.
"They went after me and I start screaming 'help, help!'" she recounted. She says the men knocked her down and stole her car keys.
One of her coworkers, Anays Carhart, heard the screams.
"We start calling the police and I saw her lying in the floor bang in the back of the head...we were scared," she said.
The doctor knew a hit on the head put her in danger.
"I was scared to death because I thought maybe had a hematoma. I could die from a hematoma," said Ferrer Guerra.
Fortunately, she was released from the hospital after a few hours with no serious injuries. Now she hopes police catch whoever attacked her and took her car.
