Feds: Children's Photographer Took Secret, Sex Photos

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - If you like child porn, what better way to feed your habit than to run a business that brings kids right to your door? That's exactly what federal prosecutors say a Miami man was doing, running a business photographing children in one room while secretly taking pictures of them undressing in another.

A federal indictment has been returned against 36 year old Diego Tobias Matrajt, operator of Photography by Diego, a business at his home described on his website filled with photographs of children as specializing in baby and children photography.

US Attorney Wilfredo Ferrer said Matrajt shared 10 child pornography images with an undercover agent on February 16th using an online file sharing service. That brought agents to Matrajt's home with a search warrant in April where they seized computers and digital storage media.

The indictment claims a search of the computer found about 50 images of children under 12 in various stages of undress, apparently captured with a webcam. The children were apparently changing clothes in a guest bedroom as part of photo shoots, and prosecutors said Matrajt has admitted taking the pictures using a video camera.

The native of Argentina has been charged with 3 counts of distribution and possession of child pornography, charges that if convicted could send him to federal prison for a maximum of 20 years.

Matrajt has been released on bond.
