TAMARAC, Fla. (CBSMiami) – One person was killed Friday morning when a Honda CRV and an Acura sedan collided in the 3800 block of West Commercial Boulevard in Tamarac.

The accident happened around 9:30 a.m. sent the black Acura sedan careening into a pole which left the car partially wrapped around the power pole.

The Honda SUV suffered significant damage to the front end of the car.

Traffic heading westbound on Commercial east of 441 was stacked up for awhile as investigators from the Broward Sheriff’s Office began working on the scene.

Drivers should find an alternate route around the area for the next few hours.
