Independent Coach Arrested For Alleged Molestation Of Players

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A self-described independent basketball coach in Miami has been arrested for allegedly luring kids into his home and then having them take part in masturbation contests.

According to Miami Police, so far two boys have come forward with their story. Police said the kids said when they visited Lorenzo Green's home in the 6600 block of NW 3rd Court, he would play pornographic movies.

Police said he would then get them to play masturbation contests in exchange for prize money. Miami Police said the prize money was never paid, but the contests continued.

One of the victims said that Green would have several children over to his house before a tournament. The victim said a few weeks ago he was sleeping at the defendants home when he woke up as Green was pulling on his covers.

The victim said he then felt Green touching him over the sheets and when he opened his eyes, he saw Green masturbating while looking at the boy's buttocks.

Miami Police said Green initially denied showing the boys pornography or touching any of them.

"At the very beginning, he was reluctant," said Officer Kenia Reyes of Miami Police. "Then as the interview progressed, he started admitting to certain implications of how he was there and how he was involved."

Police said Green admitted he was in the room when the boys were watching a pornographic video and masturbating collectively.

Police said Green also admitted to watching the kids masturbate, but denied making it a contest or offering any prize to the first one to ejaculate.

Miami Police said Green told them he lets the boys watch pornographic videos and masturbate, "because if they do not do it at his house, they will do it somewhere else."

In bond court Friday, the judge issued a $90,000 bond for Green. If he's able to post bond, he will be monitored by GPS systems. He also can have no contact with children.

"This man is trying to be a role model and yet look what he ends up doing," said Officer Reyes.

Police said Green has been coaching for 15 years and they believe other victims might be out there. Anyone with more information is urged to call Miami Police or CrimeStoppers at 305-493-TIPS (8477).
