Unwanted Drugs? Let Cops, DEA Take Them Off Your Hands

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Remember that Vicodin your doctor prescribed but you never finished? How about the oxycodone your aunt was taking when she came to visit but left behind. What do you do with it now? Cops and the DEA say they have a solution; turn it in, no questions asked.

From 10-2 Saturday, police departments around the country are partnering with the DEA as part of the Nation al Take Back initiative, where police accept prescription drugs for disposal no questions asked.

The drugs can be unneeded or unwanted, or even unopened. The police departments will accept them and have them properly disposed of. Simply dumping prescription drugs in the trash or flushing them down the toilet can create potential hazards avoided with proper disposal.

The city of Miami police department is accepting drugs at the Police Department lobby, 400 Second Avenue in Miami, but there may be a more convenient location closer to you.
