Five People Detained After Miami Beach SWAT Standoff

MIAMI BEACH (CBS4 ) - After a standoff with the SWAT team, Miami Beach Police are interviewing people they call "persons of interest" in the murder of Robert Lakatos, 16.

Police say they were trying to talk to two people, but those people ran and barricaded themselves inside a home on the one thousand block of 79th Street.

Police called in the SWAT team and K9 unit and after a couple of hours, police say the people came out of the house.

"They came out. The SWAT team did not have to make entry," said Miami Beach Police Sgt. Bobby Hernandez.

Police say those persons of interest ran into a home where there were three other people so police are questioning all five people.

Sgt. Hernandez said Miami Beach Police have been working leads on the case since Lakatos was murdered earlier this month.

Police say in an armed robbery turned deadly, Lakatos was shot and killed.

The teen had recently moved to Miami Beach with his family.
