Former ICE Chief Wants Child Porn Trial Delayed

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The defense attorney for former Immigration and Customs Enforcement's top agent in Miami are seeking a delay in his trial for child pornography charges.

The lawyer for Anthony Mangione, 51, said in a motion Friday that more time was needed to allow an expert to do forensic work on Mangione's computer.

The trial had originally been set to start in March will now not start until May 14. Mangione's attorney wants the trial delayed until July.

Mangione was charged last year with possessing, receiving, and transporting child pornography using private Internet accounts. After he was arrested, he retired as the top ICE agent in Miami. He had led the Miami ICE office since 2007 before retiring.

Mangione pled not guilty and is out of jail on $75,000 bail. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 50 years in prison.
