Panthers Playoff Tickets Go On Sale

SUNRISE (CBSMiami) - The last time the Florida Panthers made the playoffs, you could buy gas in South Florida for a buck and a half a gallon and the team's home ice was in Overtown, not west Broward. But at last, the Panthers are back in the Playoffs, and tickets went on sale Saturday.

Only a handful of fans lined up Saturday morning at the BankAtlantic center, where the team will meet it's first playoff opponent.

Exactly who that will be is still up in the air, because how the Panthers do in their remaining regular season game will help determine where they are seeded, and whether they meet the Devils or the Rangers in the opening round.

That gets the Panthers in the playoffs. If the Washington Capitals lose Saturday night's game against the Rangers, or the Panthers get a win or are forced into OT against Carolina, they could also claim their first division title in 18 seasons.

Confused? Welcome to the NHL.

So while it's not know who they will play, or if it will be as division champs, fans got their chance Saturday to buy tickets in person or online. They don't know who the opponent will be, or when the games will be played, but the ticket guarantees them a place at the show.
