Wasserman Schultz Staffer Apologizes For Photo

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A six-year-old picture showing a part-time staffer for Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz with an anti-Semitic slur for a title has forced the staffer to issue an apology.

"I apologize for any harm postings on my Facebook page made years ago may have caused anyone. I meant no offense," Dani Gilbert said in a statement.

Gilbert was seen in a photo on her Facebook page with her friends holding dollar bills and referring to themselves as "Jewbags" and the "Jew cash money team!"

The photo in question was first noticed by a conservative blog and then quickly went viral. The photo is no longer available on the Facebook page.

According to Politico, the staffer's parents are Mark and Nancy Gilbert, who have raised more than $500,000 for the Obama campaign.

Gilbert had also recently been appointed as the Democratic National Committee's Jewish outreach liaison.

Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz, who also heads up the Democratic National Committee, has not disciplined Gilbert to this point.
