Palm Beach Deputy Struck By Truck

LAKE WORTH (CBSMiami/AP) – A West Palm Beach Sheriff's deputy was airlifted to a hospital after she was struck by a truck.

The deputy, who was riding a T3 scooter, was on patrol in Lake Worth Sunday morning when a pick up truck backed out of an alley and hit her, according to sheriff's spokeswoman Teri Barbera.

After the collision, the truck's driver kept going. Barbera said investigators are unsure if the driver realized he or she had struck someone.

The deputy, whose name has not been released, was transported by helicopter to Delray Medical Center.

There was no immediate information on her condition, though Barbera said she was able to talk over the radio after the crash.
