Gas Prices Up Nearly A Dime In A Week

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The price at the pump took a big jump over the last week.

Nationwide, prices jumped six cents in the last week (23 cents in the last month) to $3.87 for a gallon of regular unleaded., according to GasBuddy.com. According to the American Automobile Association, statewide the price for regular unleaded shot up 8 cents during week and nearly 20 cents in the last month.

In Florida, regular unleaded is averaging $3.90 a gallon for regular unleaded, according to AAA.   Last year at this time, that same gallon was running around $3.57.

In Miami-Dade and Ft. Lauderdale, drivers are paying more than the state average; a regular unleaded is running $3.95. Last year at this time regular unleaded gas averaged $3.64 in Miami and $3.63 in Ft. Lauderdale.

Pensacola, where unleaded regular is averaging $3.77 a gallon, is the cheapest places in the state to fill up.

West Palm Beach is the most expensive place to top off the tank; regular unleaded is averaging $3.97 a gallon.
