FSU Looking To Extend Hamilton's Contract

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (CBSMiami) – The Florida State Seminoles just finished one of the best basketball seasons in school history, and now the university is looking to keep its head coach around a lot longer.

According to the Associated Press, Florida State is negotiating with representatives of Leonard Hamilton to extend his current contract. The move comes as Hamilton's name has come up in coaching searches for other schools.

Hamilton currently earns $1.5 million per season and received bonuses of roughly $175,000 for winning the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament and being named ACC coach of the year.

Hamilton currently has two years remaining on his contract with Florida State and has not given any indication that he'd even consider leaving the Noles.

In 10 seasons at Florida State, Hamilton is 201-127.
