Boy Drowns At Oakland Park Pool Party

OAKLAND PARK (CBS4) - A seven-year old boy is dead after he drowned at a pool party in Oakland Park Sunday evening.

Broward County Sheriff's Investigators said Damiaen Tubbs was at a barbecue with his father at the pool when he wandered into the deeper water. Someone noticed the child floating in the water, jumped in and pulled him out.

Ricardo Izquierdo heard the screaming and went to his apartment window to see what was going on. That is when he said he saw the child's father giving the boy CPR.

"He was terrified scared," recalled Izquierdo. "Trying to, I mean asking for favors, any favors to make him survive"

Paramedics arrived and rushed Tubbs to Holy Cross Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
