PALM BEACH (CBSMiami/AP) – After igniting a national furor over comments made about Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke, conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh has issued a mea culpa.

Limbaugh posted the statement on his website Saturday, saying his “slut” and “prostitute” comments were insulting. He had come under intense criticism from womens’ groups, politicians from both political parties and some of the advertisers on his talk show.

He said he “did not intend a personal attack” on her.

Limbaugh launched a verbal attack on the student after she testified before Congress about a need for insurance coverage for birth control.

President Barack Obama had telephoned Fluke on Friday to express his support.

He didn’t “intend” a personal attack?? HOW could what he said NOT be a personal attack. I’d say Limbaugh needs to apologize like a real person and, instead of writing a quick note on his website site, go in front of the cameras, in front of Sandra Fluke and give a thoughful apology. And then explain to us all what lessons he is going to take away from this.

He’s done this type of thing way too many times and he needs to be held accountable this time.

    Sandra Fluke: SUE LIMBAUGH, ANYWAY.

He’s only sorry his show is in danger of being cancelled, losing its sponsors. He will continue to be just as vile, just on other subjects, attacking other people. And the Right will continue to parrot his hate mindlessly.
