Michael Jackson, The Immortal World Tour Comes To Miami

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – South Florida Michael Jackson fans are going to be thrilled this weekend as the Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson: Immortal World Tour stops in Miami this weekend.

It's a thrilling and electrifying combination of two powerhouses who have teamed up for what is an unforgettable show.

Through Jackson's music, Cirque du Soleil performers bring to life the King of Pop's lifetime of chart-topping hits and iconic performances, according to show producers.

"It really is a celebration of Michael's brilliance with over 30 songs, many classics, and moments created over the decades," said Travis Payne, a close friend of the Jackson family and choreographer.

It is a riveting fusion of visuals, dance, music and fantasy that immerses audiences in Michael's creative world.

"Michael was a fan of Cirque, he loved Cirque, saw all the shows in Vegas and wanted to work with Cirque superstars," said Michael's brother Jackie Jackson. "He thought it was a great show."

Both Jackson and Travis told CBS 4's Marybel Rodriguez the show was created not only with Michael's fans in mind but also fans of Cirque.

It's a show his family says Michael would be very proud of.

"He would say two thumbs up because Michael loved production, loved the glitz of the business and that's what Cirque and Michael bring you. A great production, great costumes, great dance. He just wanted to make people happy," said Jackie Jackson.

"Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour kicks off Friday March 2nd at the AmericanAirlines Arena and runs through Sunday Marcy 4th.
