BSO Seeks Weston Vandals Spray Painting Cars, Homes

WESTON (CBSMiami) – Investigators with the Broward Sheriff's Office are trying to find the vandals responsible for a string of graffiti crimes throughout the city.

According to BSO, several suspects drove through the communities of San Remo, San Sebastian, Bonaventure, Village Homes, Patio Village Homes, The Gables, San Michelle, and Executive Homes; spray painting homes and cars.

It happened sometime late Saturday night into early Sunday morning.

The vandals spray painted the letters "WOLA" on nearly two dozen homes and cars.

The color of the spray paint was black and white.

"It's a hassle. We have to repaint the whole house pretty much," said homeowner Cathy Saia. "We've lived here a long time.  I doubt it was kids in the neighborhood."

"We think it was teenagers who were mobile," said Weston BSO chief Kevin Butler. "Right now, we have no leads and are hoping anyone who knows anything about this will share it with us."

BSO investigators said they have not found any links to gangs that they know of yet.

One couple who had their pickup truck vandalized had surveillance cameras rolling that showed a car stop in front of their pickup and then roll past.

"A neighbor knocked on our door Sunday morning and said we better take a look, and that's when we found it," the homeowner said.

Other cities in the county also reported similar vandalisms.

Anyone with information is asked to call Sergeant Anton or Detective Kravecz at (954) 389-2056 or Broward Crimestoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
