Truck Accident Closes Busy US 27

HIALEAH GARDENS (CBSMiami) - Busy US 27 in Hialeah Gardens has been closed near the 9200 block by an accident which sent one person to the hospital after fire-rescue workers had to cut him from his truck.

The accident happened shortly before 3 p.m., and required air rescue.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident, and had no immediate information about the name of the victim.

There is no information about how long US27, also known as Okeechobee Road, will be closed.

Police suggest drivers avoid the area.
