Lanes Re-open After Wastewater Break On Miami Beach
MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) – All lanes of Indian Creek Drive on Miami Beach are reopen after a wastewater break on Friday shut the road down for hours.
The wastewater break took place at Indian Creek Drive and 69th Street.
The break was four-feet long along the side of the approximately 60-year-old, 16-inch pipe.
Crews quickly moved in to fix the break and make road repairs. Those repairs were finished around 1:00 a.m. Saturday, followed be road restoration work, according to city spokeswoman Nannette Rodriguez.
The road was reopened around noon.
No services were affected, and despite the 60-year-old age of the pipe, age does not appear to be a factor in the break, according to Rodriguez.
The cause of the break has not been determined.
