MIAMI BEACH (CBS4) – Calling South Beach’s newest Mexican restaurant “Lolita Cocina and Tequila Bar” sexy and edgy might sound a bit strange, but looking around the newly renovated space off 1st Street and Collins Avenue with red velvet walls, glass chandeliers and rustic bar you get  a certain vibe.

“Lolita was originally conceived to be a burlesque or bordello Mexican spirit and we wanted to take street food of Mexico but keep it simple,” said owner Jody Pennette.

As for cost, customers can pretty much determine their final check by the bountiful offerings and price ranges in the menu

“You can come out and get a couple of taquitos and tacos and come out light and then we also have tequila at $100 a shot,” said Pennette.
