Something Extra: Trashy Florida? Give Me a Break

MIAMI (CBS4) - Can Florida cities catch a break?

Last week we told you about how Forbes.com had chosen Miami as the country's most miserable city and Fort Lauderdale as the seventh most miserable.

Now, Florida cities have dominated Coed Magazine's top ten list of trashiest spring break destinations.

Key West is second trashiest, only beaten out by Las Vegas.

It doesn't mean Key West has poor quality accommodations or restaurants.  To be trashy, the criteria included the quantity of strip clubs, tattoo parlors, Hooters restaurants and liquor stores, and whether Girls Gone Wild films there.

Nice.

Bottom line, if you believe the list, it should also be titled "top ten places parents should make sure their kids don't go to for spring break."

Key West earned second place because the magazine said it was a continuous party where open container laws weren't enforced during spring break season.

Daytona Beach took fourth trashiest, Miami Beach sixth, Panama City, Florida was seventh and Fort Myers eighth.

It all begs the question: if Florida cities are so miserable and trashy, why does everyone want to come here?

To the northerners who put these lists together, I say, stop hating!
