Man Dies After Falling Out Of Moving Pickup Truck
PEMBROKE PINES (CBSMiami) – A 20-year-old Davie man died Tuesday morning in a bizarre incident in Pembroke Pines.
According to Pembroke Pines police, Alvin James McMurtry fell out of a moving pickup truck on U.S. 27 near Johnson Street.
Police were called to the scene shortly before 1:00 a.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed McMurtry was a passenger in a 1990 Ford F250 driven by 19-year-old Christopher Lynch. Police said he was sitting on the passenger door window frame when he fell from the truck and suffered fatal injuries.
Police said alcohol may have been a factor in the incident.
The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed at this time.
