Woman Killed, Second Hurt In Ft. Lauderdale Shooting

FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - One woman is dead, a second hospitalized after a domestic dispute turned violent Saturday night in Ft. Lauderdale.

Police spokesman Detective Travis Mandell said just after 11 p.m. a man got into an argument with the two women in the 1100 block of NW 11th Street. As the fight grew more heated, he pulled out a gun and shot both of them.

The women were rushed to Broward General Medical Center where one of them died; the other is listed as stable.

Mandell said detectives identified a possible suspect in the shooting as 19-year old Burnie Reed who they said should be considered armed and dangerous.

Police have not released the names of the women or what the trio may have arguing about.

Anyone with information on Reed's whereabouts is asked to call Detective Jack DiCristofalo at (954) 828-6096, Detective Mark Breen at (954) 828-5708 or Broward County Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
