Alleged Butt Boosting Doc Makes First Court Appearance
MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Oneal Morris, the person who allegedly carried out buttocks enhancements by injecting South Florida "patients" with Fix-a-Flat, cement and other toxic substances made her first formal appearance in court Thursday.
Wearing a flowing, form flattering zebra-striped skirt and black blazer, Morris was offered a no plea deal in court.
Sources close to the case tell CBS4 news they expect additional charges involving more victims, but the state is awaiting lab tests to prove what chemical compounds were retrieved from the alleged victims.
Outside the courtroom, Morris had "no comment." Her attorney Michael Mirer insisted his client is not guilty.
"Miss Oneal is maintaining her innocence and we're looking forward to her trial date and her exoneration at that time," said Mirer.
Also in court Thursday, Morris' co-defendant and accused accomplice Corey Eubank.
Both Morris and Eubank are charged with practicing medicine without a license.
Eubank insists he did not act as an agent for the "fix-a-flat" doctor.
"I'm being accused for something I had nothing to do with. A lie sent me to jail," Eubank told CBS4's Gary Nelson outside the courtroom.
Eubank said he was set up by alleged victims looking to make money on the talk show circuit.
Several accusers say they paid Morris hundreds of dollars to enhance their bodies with what they thought to be silicone. Instead, they say the injections led to severe pain and surgery.
Two of the victims have spoken publicly about their experience including Shaquanda Brown who told her story to Dr. Phil about the botched cosmetic surgery she says she received at the hands of Oneal Morris. Brown said she thought she was receiving a silicone injection, however, state and local officials said Morris used cement, fix-a-flat, mineral oil and superglue.
Another victim Rajee Narinesingh told CBS4 News that she underwent a back room procedure by Morris more than two years ago. Narinesingh said she is under the care of a licensed cosmetic surgeon who is still trying to fix what Morris allegedly did to her. Narinesingh, a man who lives as a woman, said she did not have the money to pay a licensed plastic surgeon to enhance her features and went to Morris after learning of her by "word of mouth" in the transsexual community.
The trial date was set for April 5th.
