Costa Atlantica Travelers Not Worried About Repeat Of Tragedy

MIAMI (CBS4) - Travelers arrived early at Port Miami Wednesday for their cruise aboard the Costa Atlantica. The ship is run by the same company as the ill-fated Costa Concordia sinking off the coast of Italy.

Despite the tragedy, travelers said they were not concerned. "I think that accidents can happen everywhere but I hope captain will be careful," French tourist Alexander Mollard said.

"There's always tragedy. Are you going to spend your life worrying about tragedy? I don't," said George Terzian of Chicago.

In an email Costa Cruises reassured customers "this dramatic and exceptional event which appears to have been caused by a human error should have never occurred and no such incident must ever happen again"

Most travelers planned this trip months or even years in advance.. And say despite what happened to the Costa Concordia, they never considered canceling the trip

"I imagine it was the fault of the captain and we are safe," said Juan Jose Vasquez who came from Argentina with his wife and four children. "I'm ready to have a good time."

The Costa Atlantica left port just after 10 p.m. headed for the Caribbean.
