Dade Teachers Rally For Union Rights
MIAMI (CBS4) - Teachers, hospital workers, and other union members rallied Monday night for labor rights.
More than a hundred people gathered in a Miami auditorium and urged legislators to pass laws supporting education, hospitals, and labor unions.
"I teach first grade children how to read and I am here because I want to make sure that other young people go into education and have decent pay so they can continue to educate America's children," said Miami-Dade school teacher Patrenia Dozier-Washington
Supporters at the rally were urged to take out their cell phones and call their local legislator and request their union support ahead of the upcoming legislative session.
United Teachers of Dade organized the event.
