Tri-Rail Cancels Last Trains On Christmas Night

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – If you're planning to use Tri-Rail On Christmas Day to visit friends and family, you may have to wrap up you get together a little earlier than planned.

The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) said the last northbound and southbound trains that night have been canceled due to a planned outage of the CSXT communication system.

"After careful consideration, we decided that it was in the best interest of our passengers to cancel these trains rather than run the risk of having them stranded somewhere on the corridor on Christmas," explained SFRTA Deputy Executive Director Jack Stephens.

The last southbound train, P673, will depart the Mangonia Park Station at 6:00 p.m. The last northbound train, P672, will depart the Hialeah Market/ Miami Airport Station at 6:03 p.m.
