Sun Life Stadium Set For Name Change

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – The stadium in Miami Gardens that plays host to the Miami Dolphins, the Orange Bowl, and several other major events each year is about to go through another name change.

According to CBS4 news partner the Miami Herald, Sun Life Stadium will have to change its name in the next three years because Sun Life Financial will pull its name off the stadium at the end of the current naming rights agreement.

But going through name changes is nothing new for the aging stadium.

The stadium was originally named Joe Robbie Stadium, then it was Pro Player Stadium, Pro Player Park, Dolphin Stadium, Dolphins Stadium, Land Shark Stadium, and the current name Sun Life Stadium.

The Herald reported that the Dolphins will begin searching for a new naming partner in the coming year.
