Hialeah Police Look For 2 Suspects In $29K Robbery

HIALEAH (CBS4)- Police are looking for the two men who broke into a car and got away with $29,000, and it was all caught on camera.

Hialeah Police hope the surveillance video of the men will lead them to the thieves. According to police, on November 29th at approximately 12 p.m., the two men were caught on CCTV breaking into a parked vehicle at 1015 East 4th Avenue in Hialeah and stealing a deposit box containing the cash.

The video shows the victim vehicle pulling up in a white SUV. Behind the drivers seat in the SUV police said there was a box with $29,000 in cash. The driver leaves the car.

Moments after, one of the men is seen walking along the sidewalk. Then he appears again, but this time he's seen pulling up in a black newer model Lexus next to the SUV. He gets out and smashes the SUV window and steals the cash. Another person was seen helping the man.

Police said the victim was targeted, likely by someone who heard him talking about delivering the cash

"He didn't know there was a surveillance camera," Detective Carl Zogby with the Hialeah Police Department said.  "So I mean, he showed his appearance. He showed his image. He's obviously not hard to identify. Plus, the sneakers he was wearing… I'm sure if you saw him that day you'll remember him just from the neon sneakers that look like they glow in the dark. So we just need a name."

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.  You will remain anonymous and may be given a $1,000 reward should your tip lead to an arrest.
