UM Commencement May Cause Traffic Issue In Gables

CORAL GABLES (CBSMiami) ― After years of studying, pulling all-nighters and preparing for one exam or another, thousands of University of Miami students are about to step out into the real world.

About 850 students will graduate from the University of Miami during commencement ceremonies being held Thursday, December 15th at the BankUnited Center, 1245 Dauer Drive, on UM's Coral Gables campus.

Traffic delays are possible around the BankUnited Center, U.S. 1, and Ponce de Leon Boulevard between Granada and Red Road.

During the ceremony, undergraduates, master's degree candidates, and doctoral candidates from all of UM's schools and colleges (except for Miller School of Medicine M.D. degrees) will be recognized by name and will walk across the stage to be congratulated by President Donna E. Shalala and their school's dean.

The commencement ceremony will be streamed live at www.miami.edu/commencement.
