SW MIAMI-DADE – CBSMiami – An early morning accident that killed one person closed Krome avenue in SW Miami-Dade as the Florida Highway Patrol investigated.

The accident happened just before 7 a.m. near SW 208th street in far west Miami-Dade. A spokesperson for The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of a Honda Civic was reported to be driving erratically, weaving around other vehicles, sideswiping at least one other car.

The FHP said the driver of the civic was changing lanes into oncoming traffic, and hit another car head on.

One person was airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center, but the driver of the Civic was dead at the scene of the accident.

The investigation closed Krome Avenue between SW 200th and SW 216th streets.

The names of the victims were not immediately available.

    At least the driver who caused the accident was the one who got killed. It’s usually an innocent bystander that usually dies. Feel sorry for the person who was airlifted to Ryder. I hope that person will make it. As for the driver, you got what you deserved punk!

    Weaving in and out of traffic, side swiping vehicles and driving the wrong way on Krome Avenue near Homestead in the early morning hours. Sounds like another illegal drunk Mexican will be going home in a box courtesy of the taxpayer !
