Neighbors 4 Neighbors connected Big Heart Brigade with Farm Share to provide 8,000 home cooked turkey dinners for the hungry in Miami-Dade County.

Big Heart Brigade prepared the meals while Farm Share distributed the dinners to those who needed it most.

"We went to Palm Beach County and picked up 8,000 meals yesterday and those are being passed through the churches in Miami-Dade County," explained Farm Share Founder and Chairman Patricia Robbins.

Robbins also said while it's been a tough year without a lot of their usual funding, this time of year and the food the organization provides is one of the most thrilling things they do.

"Thanksgiving and Christmas because these are the times of the year when people recognize the hunger and we are with these people all year and it's very difficult to get funding for charities like Farm Share to give them fresh fruits and vegetables but it's an all year thing and Thanksgiving and Christmas people realize the hunger is there. One out of every 4 families now live below the poverty line."

Big Heart Brigade has prepared more than 100-thousand meals for more than 500 agencies, organizations and churches in need.
