Subtropical Cyclone Trying To Develop In Atlantic

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – The 2011 Atlantic Hurricane Season is in its last days, but it's not going away without a fight.

The CBS4 Storm Team is tracking a broad low pressure system located about 875 miles northeast of the northeastern Leeward Islands.

According to the National Hurricane Center, this cluster of showers and storms has been better organized and now has a 60% chance of developing into a subtropical cyclone during the next few days.

Regardless of development, this system does not pose a threat to South Florida or the U.S.

Computer forecast models indicate it will move north-northeastward or northeastward and away from the U.S. mainland.

The circulation of the low is not well-defined and environment conditions are only marginally conducive for further development.

The Atlantic Hurricane Season officially comes to an end at the end of November.
